Bone Broth
Ingredients
1 chicken (whole/organic)
½ bunch of celery (top stalks and leaves) roughly chopped
2 carrots chopped in half
1 onion chopped in quarters
2 garlic cloves peeled
1 tbsp of peppercorns
1 tbsp of salt (pink Himalayan or Celtic)
1 tbsp of apple cider vinegar
Water
Method
Slice meat off chicken (save in fridge for later use ). Or you can use a roast chicken carcass.
In the slow cooker place chicken bones and skin, add all remaining ingredients.
Add water until the slow cooker is almost full.
Leave slow cooker on low over night, or for a minimum of 12 hours.
Remove the bones, skin and veggies, and bottle up the bone broth for use in cooking, drinks etc. You can freeze it in ice cube trays for easy portioning later.
